24 Apr Sensation Seekers
1st – 29th April 2012 | Opening Sunday 1st of April 6pm
We are excited to announce the grand opening of Fontanelle Gallery & Studios with the group exhibition ‘Sensation Seekers’ curated by our Director Brigid Noone. Our first show will feature new work by Fontanelle Committee and Studio members: Brigid Noone, Mary-Jean Richardson, Benjamin Leslie, Chloe Langford, Celeste Aldahn, Amy Joy Watson and Anna Horne. Also featuring new work by Steven Carson, Maarten Daudeij, Carl Jiorjio, Sera Waters, Daniel Noone and Belle Bassin.
‘Sensation Seekers’ is curated around the desire to put together a collection of art works that each emanate their own perceptible auras – offering sensory experience in exchange for your physical and mental presence. The artists and their works are not limited to a particular genre, category or mood – only committed to the potential of art to ‘enhance our capacity to grow and evolve through sensation’*. Fontanelle is a new gallery and studio complex located in Bowden, just beyond the Adelaide CBD. Fontanelle Gallery is a space for show-casing emerging and established contemporary artists and curators on a local, national and international basis. Working between artist-run communities and the commercial contemporary art gallery models, Fontanelle also houses seventeen artist studios, an installation space and a dedicated space for artist-led workshops.
